Nicolas Cage gets given a role, and he gives it 110%.
At certain stages in his career there have been great roles, and they’ve said ‘You’re this alcoholic guy it’s complicated be complex’ and he said okay and did it.
And then at other stages he’s had shitty roles and they’ve said ‘Your head is on fire and you ride a motorbike’ and he said okay and did it.
While I personally find some aspects of the Nicholas Cage meme funny, I hope that people recognize that he’s actually a fantastic actor. Because you’ve got all of these people like George Clooney that are having their dick universally sucked when they’ve spent the majority of their careers playing themselves.
Personally when it comes down to it and there’s one guy that’s giving everything and he hits and misses like crazy, and there’s another guy that gives a bit and makes sure it’s always a hit, I’m going to route for the one that’s giving everything.
Because I respect that.
